The Fall 2008 Contest
Dazzle us with a piece of writing that is no more than 100 words. You may use
any topic and any form-fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. As Strunk and White say, "Vigorous
writing is concise."
The Contest Winner
The winning entry will be published in the Gotham Winter 2009 brochure and posted online at WritingClasses.com. The author will receive a free 10-Week Writing Workshop.
The contest is easy to enter, and there are no fees. Just follow these steps:
- Show us what you can do with 100 words.
- Read the Contest Rules below.
- Complete and submit your entry.
Contest Rules
- Only online entries will be accepted, and only those submitted by midnight, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 Eastern Time.
- The competition is open to works of 100 words or less. Longer entries will be disregarded.
- All entries must be original, unpublished, and not submitted elsewhere until the winner is announced.Gotham Writers' Workshop will post the winning entry at www.WritingClasses.com/100words.
- Only one entry per contestant is allowed.
- The winner will be notified by Friday, September 26, 2008, and his or her name will be posted at www.WritingClasses.com/100words. If you have not been contacted by this date, you may assume your entry has not been selected, and it may be submitted elsewhere.
