TV dramas beam the world into our homes. We race alongside doctors, lawyers, cops, mobsters, and space voyagers and navigate through the tangled lives of families, friends, lovers, co-workers, and cyborgs. These hour-long shows pack quite a punch. With the advent of cable and satellite technology, TV drama has grown even more diverse and adventurous, pushing the limits of who or what we can “bring home.”
To break into writing TV drama, you need a great “spec” script – a perfectly executed episode of a current show. In our course, you will learn how to structure and format to industry standards, stay true to a show’s characters and spirit, and develop a dramatist’s sense of dialogue, scene, and setting.
If you seek to join the world of TV dramatists, we’ll show you how to write a great spec script.
