If you get verklempt every time you think of the Ministry of Silly Walks, then you know the special magic of sketch comedy. A comedy sketch can highlight the absurdities of our world in a mere few minutes and, when it’s really good, keep people giggling for a lifetime. Is anything more fun than that?
A sketch is a mini-play, and if it’s going to soar in performance it must first “work” on paper. In our course, you will develop an eye for fresh ideas, an ear for well-crafted material, and learn how to combine a stand-up’s joke precision with a dramatist’s sense of character, dialogue, scene, and setting.
Whether you seek to write for stage or screen, we’ll show you how to write sketch comedy that lets the world laugh at itself.
