Student Quotes
"By the last two classes you actually stand in front with a mic and the lights shining at you just like a club. You can do a routine in a real club with your other classmates (but only if you want to) and in my class everyone did it and enjoyed it."

"When emerging from the bubble of creating stories, it is really helpful to know what to do, what approach to take. The course has given me confidence that I can get my work out there and hopefully someone will like it enough to represent it and/or publish it."

Excerpt: Two Gotham Movies
It’s rare as a shooting star for screenwriters to have their scripts turned into movies produced by major studios. And yet… this fall two Gotham Screenwriting teachers will see this dream come true.

The Cold Light of Day written by Gotham teacher John Petro, in collaboration with Scott Wiper, is a fast-paced thriller about a young man forced into action when his family is kidnapped while on a sailing trip. The movie stars Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis, and Sigourney Weaver. It debuts in the U.S. on September 7, and you can check it out here.

Wreck-It Ralph written by Gotham teacher Jennifer Lee, in collaboration with Phil Johnson, is a Disney computer animated comedy about a video game “bad guy” who longs to be a good guy. The movie features the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, and Jane Lynch. It debuts in the U.S. on November 2, and you can check it out here.
