Q: What is your method for overcoming writer’s block?
A: I think writer’s block is a way the brain has of telling you you’ve taken a false step. I think you need to wait a day or two, then start reading your work from the beginning, and the false step should become apparent.
Q: What are your favorite or most helpful writing prompts?
A: I’m not sure what you are referring to as a writing prompt.
Q: What is the most valuable advice you received as a young writer?
A: The most valuable advice? The poet James Whitehead told me I had talent and to keep on working. That’s really all you need. Just a little encouragement from someone you respect.
