About Susan Breen

I was hoping to be an early bloomer and I still think it would have been fun to be one of those 25-year-old literary wonders, but oh well. Here I am, 50 years old, drenched with children, dogs, students (apologies to my classes for the placement), stress, misery and responsibility, but I did bloom! My short stories have been published by a number of literary magazines, among them American Literary Review and anderbo (which lists my story “Triplet” as an anderbo classic!) I teach beginning and advanced fiction for Gotham Writer’s Workshop and my first novel, The Fiction Class, is to be published by Plume/Penguin on Feb. 26, 2008. So, this blog is the story of how one very over-excited person deals with the adventure that is publication (and life).
