OFFICIAL RULES

I. HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE DOES NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Submit your entry using the online entry form located at Writingclasses.com/Sonyacontest.

II. START/END DATES
Contest begins on December 16, 2008 at 12:01 a.m. EST. Ends on April 3, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

III. ELIGIBILITY
Contest may only be entered in or from the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, entries originating from any other jurisdiction are not eligible for entry. This Conteest is governed exclusively by the laws of the United States. You are not authorized to participate in the Contest if you are not located within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.

Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States who are between 13 and 18 years of age on December 1, 2008, excluding all Simon & Schuster and Gotham Writers' Workshop employees and affiliates.

Limit of one (1) entry may be submitted per person. Anyone who submits more than one (1) entry will be disqualified.

Entries may be no more than 1,500 words or 10 pages in length. Only online entries will be accepted.

IV. PRIZES
The number one winner will receive a free Six-week Gotham Writers' Workshop Class that can be taken live or online, and is redeemable within one year of award. The number one winner will also received a personalized copy of What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know signed by the author, Sonya Sones, and a one-year subscription to Teen Ink. The winning entry will be published on SonyaSones.com.

Ten runners up will each receive a one-year subscription to Teen Ink and a personalized copy of What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know signed by the author, Sonya Sones.

V. WINNER
All winners will be notified on or around June 15, 2009. The winners will be notified by email, mail or telephone and will be required to sign and return affidavit(s) of eligibility and release of liability within 14 days of notification. A noncompliance within that time period or the return of any notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner. In the event of any other noncompliance with rules and conditions, prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. Taxes, if any, are the winner's sole responsibility. No substitution or transfer of a prize is permitted except by Simon & Schuster. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.
