Dear Gotham,
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude and thanks for helping me achieve my dream of becoming a successful writer and a published author.
Years ago, when I took an interest in writing, my aunt gave me a Gotham gift card as a Christmas gift. What followed was not only many classes at Gotham—including courses on how to write a query letter, creative writing introduction, and novel writing—but also a love of the online learning environment. Since then I’ve pursued an online college degree in English through SNHU, and combined with my classes at Gotham, I put my education to use and continued to work on manuscripts in the hopes of finding a publisher.
Last year, on Christmas Eve, I awoke to the news that my YA fantasy adventure novel, The Ritual of the Four, would be published. I was offered a publishing contract—a moment (and a Christmas) that I will never forget! The publishing journey continued this year with editing, cover art, and finally publication just before Halloween. This would not have been possible without Gotham and the incredible instructors, who at the beginning of my journey, honed my writing skills and gave me just the foundation I needed to be successful.
I cannot thank Gotham enough for the vast catalogue of classes, the patience of the instructors, the chance to receive critique and suggestions on writing samples, and the many opportunities I gained through my education and writing instruction.
Thank you, Gotham. I am eternally grateful.
