Goodnight New York

Here was the assignment: write a bedtime story for adults. (No, we didn't mean risqué, just not a children’s story.) Your story, which could have been true or made-up, needed to somehow relate to New York City—or as Frank Sinatra crooned, “the city that never sleeps.”

The contest will culminate in a reading at The Frederick Hotel in Tribeca, Manhattan in May 2018, and the three winning stories will be displayed in selected hotel rooms.

One of New York City’s oldest hotel properties, dating back to the 1830s, The Frederick Hotel in Lower Manhattan’s trendy Tribeca enclave provides boutique accommodations with historically reverent design.

Three lucky winners were chosen for the Goodnight New York Contest. They each received a two-night complimentary stay at The Frederick Hotel at a time of their choosing. Here we present the complete texts of the stories by the winners:
