This summer, we asked writers to spin a yarn in 101 words or fewer about the story of a niche hobby or special interest. Below, we're delighted to share the winner of our "I'm Obsessed" contest.
WINNER
Bella started her list before she even knew how to spell. It began in kindergarten. Jenny. She had two pigtails and spilled juice on Bella’s dinosaur T-shirt. On purpose. Then there was Mark, who stole Bella’s backpack and called her a wimp in front of everyone. Sarah, who started dating Chris, the boy Bella liked. And Chris himself. As she got older, the list grew longer. Eventually, Bella needed a new notebook just to keep track of the names.
“You need to learn to forgive people,” said Katherine, her therapist.
Bella nodded. She opened the notebook and wrote:
