Rick Cleveland

Rick Cleveland was a writer and producer for the series The West Wing (NBC), where he (with Aaron Sorkin) won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for the episode “In Excelsis Deo.” He was co-executive producer and writer for the series Six Feet Under (HBO), House of Cards (Netflix), Nurse Jackie (Showtime), and The Man in the High Castle (Amazon Prime), and he was a consulting producer and writer for the series Mad Men (AMC), among others. He wrote the screenplay adaptation for the feature film Runaway Jury, and his original screenplay Jerry and Tom, adapted from his stage play, was produced by Lions Gate and selected by the Sundance Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival. He has taught for the University of Iowa, the Sundance Institute, and the Writers Guild of America. He holds an MFA from the University of Iowa.
