What is your method for overcoming writer’s block?

Go with the flow. Don't try to understand it. Get out of my own head. Get out of the house. Go to movies. Lose myself an old favorite novel. It's also kind of like having a cold and waiting for it to subside. If I'm lucky it won't last too long.

What are your favorite or most helpful writing prompts?

I am motivated to write when I see or read something very good and when a new idea suddenly pops into my head.

What is the most valuable advice you received as a young writer?

Two things: One from Tennessee Williams: Never be jealous of the success of other writers and understand the necessity of rewriting.
